Ella Ronen is a singer-songwriter and a storyteller.
With a fierce and powerful voice, she brings forth her own style of folk mixed with various influences, including middle eastern sounds, jazz and rock. She is inspired by such musicians as Joni Mitchell, Fiona Apple, and Billie Holiday.
These days she is performing in Israel and Switzerland, where her songs are playlisted on major national radio stations (Swiss RTS1, Israeli Kan 88), at venues such as the Songbird Festival, Waves and the Montreux Jazz Festival, and opening for artists like Emiliana Torrini. A song from her debut album, “Please”, was featured in a worldwide JEEP commercial.
Ella is based in Tel Aviv and Zurich, where she also co-founded the Mino Collective, and divides her time between artmaking, activism, and mothering her two young children.
She has released albums in both English (Mirror Maze, 2014) and Hebrew (Toska, 2018), and the first song from her upcoming album “Motherland”, is set to release on Feb. 21st.
